Drum roll, please…
As of Saturday, March 18th, I weigh 277 lbs! That’s down from 288.8 pounds on February 21st. I’ve actually lost 11.8 pounds and feel incredible and have been eating more than plenty of the best food of my life. Oh my god, this food is so good. Tonight we had Pasta Fagioli with Spinach Marinara Sauce and it was just as good as it was last time. The bonus was that TODAY my boss gave me some fancy pasta that she bought for me when she was in Italy last week.
My husband has lost 7 pounds himself – down to 252Â lbs now. Woo! He’s mostly just happy because he gets super-yummy homemade breakfasts almost daily from me. This weekend….moan….Almond French Toast with Sliced Strawberries. I had always refused to make French Toast before, but it’s not nearly as hard as I thought. We had Sesame French Toast this past week as well. Jimi is going nuts over me cooking now. And I LOVE cooking for him! Even when I have to wake up early to get him breakfast in time, I’m smiling the whole time I do it. (That’s a lie; I hate my kitchen and scream at inanimate features of it often). I’ve never been a cook before, but now I have confidence in my abilities and can admit that I’m quite good at it – and I love it!
We both keep saying that the food is the best part and the weight loss is just a bonus. Believe me, I’m thrilled to be dropping my weight, but I really do love the way we’ve changed our eating habits. Instead of having a freezer full of frozen pizzas, ice cream, and lean pockets, we’re eating fancy-restaurant-style chicken dishes with sautéed vegetables on the side almost every night. And usually we’re too full for dessert. Let me tell you something: we’re two fat people. We were NEVER too full for dessert! We could eat a whole pizza and then go get something sweet when we were done. Now we have it only sometimes. If we do, it’s usually fruit or some small healthy treat that I’ve whipped up from the book. All the desserts I’ve made so far have been incredible. The breakfasts are also just absolutely amazing. Lunches are give and take, but you can just substitute a salad if you don’t like the recipe of the day. Most of the dinners have been great. There were a couple that I know I won’t be making again (Apple-Butternut Squash Soup and Peach Coriander Chicken both come to mind).
I’m tired and I feel like I’m typing an infomercial, so I’m going to go to bed now.
P.S. I love the Flavor Point Diet to death life, but I swear Dr. Katz didn’t pay me to say so.
