Back on Track: Down 3.4lbs on Flavor Point!

February 27, 2006 at 9:59 pm (Flavor Point Diet, in my tummy, weight loss)

Last Monday, we started the Flavor Point Diet meal plan, by Dr. David Katz. On Tuesday, I weighed in at 288.8 – lower than right after Christmas, but higher than I was before the holidays. Today, Monday, I weighed in at 285.4! So I lost 3.4 lbs in one week, got down to LOWER than my lowest weight in recent years and have been having so much FUN on this meal plan!  It has been incredible. Here’s a brief recap of the week:

Raisin/Currant Day – I was off work & cooked all the food that day, including my very first time cooking chicken…and it was TASTY! I made Roasted Chicken in a Currant-Wine Glaze with Caramelized Onions, tossed salad, and sauteed green beans. Dessert was Raisin-Granola Parfaits. Lunch was Currant-Lentil Spinach Salad with Feta & Walnuts.
Pineapple Day – Yum, yum, yum!! Dinner was grilled Pineapple Chicken; can’t be beat!
Cranberry Day – We fell in love with dried cranberries in salad when we were in Boston, so we couldn’t wait to try this day! Breakfast was Cranberry-Banana Soft Wheat Muffins; Dinner was Cranberry & Sweet Onion Turkey with Cranberry-Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. Mmm!
Lemon Day – Lemon-Poppy Seed Soft Wheat Muffins! Pan-Seared Chicken with Lemon Chives and Capers; sauteed asparagus with lemon zest! Lemon Sorbet! Very nice day!!
Peach Day – dessert was the best: Peach Flat Cake. Tonight’s dinner was my least favorite: Peach-Coriander Chicken with some other stuff.
Orange Day – We stuck with the plan in the morning, but went out to On the Border for lunch. They’re having the Fiesta Trio deal, but we decided to share it. In the past, we’ve eaten one Trio each, along with chips and margaritas and have been stuffed afterwards. I was nervous about sharing one Trio, no drinks, but afterwards we were SO FULL! For hours, our tummies were full. It was shocking. We skipped afternoon snack AND dinner that day, but had a little orange sorbet later (as opposed to cooking a big meal at 11pm).
Apple Day – Eh. Not the best. Apples and peanut butter are awesome. Apple-Walnut Chicken Salad was not great. Apple-Butternut Squash Soup was just okay. Warm Apple Crisp was good, and so was the extra butternut squash that we stuck in the oven.
Overall, it’s been a great week. I’ve never been happier.
